Hotellin ympäristöä - Hotel's neighbourhood 

Asuimme Colonna Palace -hotellissa, joka sijaitsee Rooman historiallisessa keskustassa samalla aukiolla Italian parlamenttitalon kanssa. 

We stayed at Hotel Colonna Palace, which locates in the heart of historical Rome in the same piazza with Italian Parliament.

Näköala hotellin kattoterassilta, jossa aamupala tarjoiltiin. Taustalla näkyvä hevosvaljakko on Piazza Venezialla olevan Victor Emmanuel -monumentin katolla.

Kattopuutarhat ovat tiiviiseen rakennetussa Roomassa hyvin yleisiä.

Roof gardens are popular in Rome, where the buildings are built close each other.

Piazza Montecitoriolla, jossa hotellimmekin sijaitsi, on Montecitorion obeliski.

Obelisk of Montecitorio was located at the Piazza of Montecitorio. The hotel locates in the same piazza.

Parlamentiin kiirehti jatkuvasti mustapukuisia miehiä. Näimmepä muutamat tv-kameratkin jahtaamassa ilmeisen tärkeitä herroja. Aukion toisessa laidassa oli koko viikon mielenosoitus, jonka syytä emme tosin saaneet selville.

There were lots of black suited men hurrying to Parliament. We saw even a couple of television cameras trying to get comments from those important men. There was a demonstration on the other side of the piazza, but the reason never cleared for us. 

Marcus Aureliuksen patsas sijaitsee läheisellä Piazza Colonnalla. Uskomaton määrä yksityiskohtia on patsaaseen veistetty!

Column of Marcus Aurelius is located at the nearby Piazza Colonna. It's unbelievable how many details can be carved to one statue!

Läheisen Sant'Ignazio di Loyola:n kirkon edessä pidetään usein ilmaiskonsertteja. Tässä vuorossa puhallinorkesteri.

At the front of nearby Sant'Ignazio di Loyola church there were some free concerts. Here's a brass band playing.

The church was at Piazza di Sant'Ignazio, where also the next balcony was located.

Kuuluisat Espanjalaiset portaat olivat suljettu yleisöltä ilmeisesti elokuvan kuvaamisen vuoksi. Siksipä kyseinen nähtävyys ei saanut näiltä sivuilta suurempaa osaa.

Famous Spanish Steps were closed from public, apparently because of making a movie. That's the reason why this sight didn't get any bigger part from these pages.
